Different CDL Classes
There are different Denver CDL requirements for the different classes of vehicle you may operate. A Class A license is required if you will drive a vehicle that has a gross weight of 26,001 pounds and above when the vehicle being towed weights more than 10,000 pounds. A Class B license is required if you’re driving a truck with two or more axles with a gross weight of 26,001 pounds and above, a vehicle with two axles that weighs 26,001 pounds, and towing a vehicle that weighs less than 10,000 pounds, and if you drive a vehicle that transports 16 or more people and weighs more than 26,001 pounds. Finally, a Class C license is required if you will operate a vehicle that weighs less than 26,001 pounds and transport hazardous materials, or a vehicle that can transport 16 or more people and weighs less than 26,001 pounds.
